Details

BenQ LW500ST 2000lms WXGA LED Projectors work great in golf simulators. They’re install-friendly, setup-friendly, and user-friendly. With auto vertical keystone, corner fit and screen fill features you’ll be able to put this golf simulator projector pretty much anywhere.

BenQ LW500ST Projector Features

Corner Fitting

Most other golf simulator projectors only allow you to fill your impact screen if you mount above or below the center point, but the LW500ST allows you to mount left or right of center and still produce a rectangular image thanks to its horizontal keystone and corner fitting capabilities.

Color

98% Rec.709 coverage for true colors and 30-bit (1.07 billion colors) display color to make you feel like you’re on the course.

Long LED Lifetime

With up to 30,000 hours of LED life on Eco Mode, you won’t have to worry about replacing or maintaining for years.

Short Throw with 1.2x Zoom

With a throw ratio of 0.72-0.87, and 1.2x zoom capabilities, you don’t have to worry about having a deep space to mount the projector. You’ll get a wide range of throw distances for easier setup in shallow simulator spaces.

The BenQ LW500ST is a short-throw projector that is commonly used for gaming and home theater applications, but it can also be used for golf simulator applications. Its short-throw lens allows it to project a large image from a short distance, making it a good choice for smaller rooms.

One of the key features of the LW500ST for golf simulation is its low input lag, which is important for providing an accurate and responsive simulation experience. It has a native resolution of 1280×800, which is lower than some other projectors on the market, but is still sufficient for most golf simulation applications.

Another advantage of the LW500ST is its high brightness output of 3200 ANSI lumens, which allows it to project a bright and clear image even in well-lit rooms. It also has a contrast ratio of 13,000:1, which provides good color depth and detail in the projected image.

Overall, the BenQ LW500ST is a solid choice for a golf simulator projector, offering low input lag, high brightness, and a short-throw lens that can work well in smaller spaces.

Not ready to go out of the box

The unit comes in missing cabling. You end up, having to go out and spend more money to find the cables, and there are no instructions with the unit at all.

Good/solid projector especially for tight spaces

Good little projector – we used for outdoor movies. Easy set up. Great picture and decent sound but the sound is only good enough if everyone is quiet (which will never happen with teens). We used an external bose speaker, which was perfect. Wish the projector came with an carrying/storage case though. Would recommend to a friend.

    This is the one.

This is hands down, the best projector you can get in this price range. Look no further. I bought this in 2016 and installed it in my mancave to watch movies and game on it and it’s amazing. Truly the envy of all my guests. Not only is the picture clear, crisp and gorgeous, but its bright enough that it’s still very visible and clear even in low lighting so the room doesn’t have to be pitch dark to have a great picture. Short throw means that I have a 110″ image on my screen with the projector ceiling mounted about 4-5′ away.
For gamers: Something to keep in mind is that the refresh rate is only 60hz so if you plan on gaming keep in mind you wont get a higher frame rate than that. I’m not sure if there are projectors that display in 120hz or more but at the end of the day, the image size and quality can’t be beat. Maybe play on a monitor if you want a higher refresh rate. You’re certainly not going to be playing FPS on this as the size is prohibitive to those types of games anyway.
Another thing to keep in mind is that if you plan on having multiple devices hooked up, you are going to NEED an A/V Receiver. This only has two outputs. I figured that out afterward but honestly this kind of setup demands a good soundsystem anyway. The sound it puts out is pathetic, but that’s not what you’re buying this to do anyway.
In the summers, I put this out on my deck and put UFC PPVs on a 144″ screen. I feel like I should be charging the neighborhood for the free show they’re getting! Once it’s dark enough, this thing is bright enough to be seen clear as day.
To sum up, this is the one you want. You could spend more or spend less but unless you really want (and can afford) a 4k projector, this is the perfect projector for you.

    The best of Christmas show…

This is the kind of projector we needed. We tried the 150.00 ones and they don’t compete with the quality or brightness of this one. We got the lamp, short throw one and it’s a show stopper for holidays. We also use it for an outdoor blow up movie night. Definitely worth the price, and it holds up well going on 3 years of use.

Great picture at night or in the dark

Bought this for my golf simulator in the garage. Like many/most projectors during the day the picture can be a bit difficult to see, but once it gets towards the evening/night there are no issues what so ever and the picture quality and brightness is spot on, no issues.

    Distance range is incorrect

Just installed this in my basement two days ago. First projector ever. Happy with everything so far except I mounted it on the ceiling at 6′ 2.5″ back from the screen, which is in the stated range of 6.1-7.3 feet for the 120″ screen I bought. But at 16:9 it is producing more of a 116″ picture. So now I need to go get more wall anchors and drill more holes in my ceiling so I can move it back several inches so it will fill the screen.

    Great resolution

This was the perfect upgrade projector we needed. Presentations look super sharp and I’ve never seen this definition at this price range. We are super happy with this purchase.

    Hall of Fame Projector

Great product. Brightness is unmatched at 3200 lumens, picture quality is phenomenal, and the extra ports are nice. Way better than a projector my old disgraced roommate bought which was more expensive and lesser quality.
