Features
Forged Hollow Body Construction
Epic MAX Star Irons feature an innovative forged 1025 hollow body construction. This allows Callaway to precisely locate the CG in each iron while delivering incredible forged feel throughout the set.
Easy Launch Characteristics and Increased Forgiveness
Our engineers have implemented split tungsten weighting into the Epic MAX Star Irons. This promotes easier launch characteristics while simultaneously improving forgiveness.
Enhanced Ball Speed from A.I. Designed Flash Face Cups
The unique Flash Face architecture in each iron creates high COR’s for fast ball speeds, and improved spin robustness for every club. This set is engineered for the distance you want to see, and better control in an ultra-lightweight, game-improvement offering.
Stunning Design & Meticulous Craftmanship
Epic MAX Star Irons take craftsmanship to the next level. Every surface is designed with precision and finished with a striking Black Plasma PVD that inspires confidence, reduces glare, and helps properly frame the club behind the ball.
Premium Ultra-lightweight Components
An ultra-premium ATTAS Speed Shaft, combined with a Winn Dri-Tac Lite Grip that saves additional weight.

Great driver, the most forgiving driver that I have ever hit!
I had been playing a Tour Edge EXS for several years. It was easy to swing and was very long so I really didn’t need a new driver. However, I have Titleist irons and a Titleist 3-wood so I was curious about the Titleist drivers. I tried the Titleist TSR as well as the Taylor Made Stealth 2 and hit them both really well but didn’t want to spend $600. I then hit the TSI3 and was thrilled. It was as long, if not longer than my Tour Edge but it was so much more forgiving! I couldn’t believe how easy to hit it was and off-center hits produced amazing results. It’s a true fairway-finder and there is nothing else even close in the looks department!
Pros
+ Distance
+ Forgiveness
+ Accuracy
+ Appearance
Cons
+ The TSR may be slightly longer

Tour Edge
Nice looking fairway wood. Easy to hit off the tee. Looks big , lightweight nice club

Solid club
Weights allow for desired customization but even with the heavier weight in toe this still has a slight draw bias. Setup doesn’t project the left bias which is nice and ball has decent jump off the face. Not the most technology advanced but overall makes for a nice hybrid.

Good iron replacement
Great replacement for longer irons (for me 3 iron) from the rough. The club feels pretty effortless to swing and yields better better height than expected.

THE JURY IS STILL OUT
Three rounds and a few driving range sessions, so I am still working to learn the clubs. Previous irons were the Mavrik Max, with which I was well pleased – great forgiveness and respectable distance. There are a few trade-offs with the Epic Max Star irons that I attribute to the light weight composition. Obviously easy to swing, but less forgiving than the Mavrik on marginal swings. Learning the bottom of the swing arc has been a challenge with the wedges (PW – SW). But, I am optimistic that, once mastered, I am going to be very happy with the set. The new set was offered at 60% off the initial retail price, so I could not say ‘no’ to this value, having thought about the Max Star line-up for a while, but passing due to the relatively high price.

HIGH LAUNCH AND DEAD STRAIGHT
These clubs are so easy to launch high. Way easier than my 2020 Mavrik. Distances in the short irons stayed consistent but I picked up 10-15 yards in my 6 and 7 irons. Love the light weight shafts and Winn grips. Now I’ve got to regrip my Callaway Super Hybrids to match.
