 Help for Uphill and Downhill Shots

The PlaysLike Distance feature adjusts yardages for uphill or downhill shots based on the change in elevation from where you are standing to the location labeled on the map. This makes figuring out which club to use for uphill and downhill shots much easier. And for tournament play, you can turn PlaysLike Distance on or off. There’s even a PinPointer feature that helps show you the direction to the green on blind shots.

 See What’s In Play

The Laser Range Arc feature draws an arc on the 2-D course view map at the distance the laser ranged, so you can see everything that is in play at that distance.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Make sure it is charged and turn it on as soon as you get to the course to calibrate the gps.te
    This range finder is awesome. It does everything you need and then some. It holds a line across the green at pin level to let you know what happens if you hit the right distance and miss left or right of the stick. Downside you cannot just pull it out of your bag and shot distances it needs to set the gps for the course and calibrate. Which at times takes longer then you like. Also, when you are shooting the flag it doesnt always lock on it quick it takes about 7- 10 sec to get it locked in. Like most gps it switches holes if you happen to be in another fairways or closer to another green. Its easy enough to change back with the button on top. But you will need to get use to the small buttons and which one your pressing. The battery life is a major down fall for me, because who takes their range in the house during golf season? To remember to charge it after 2-3 rounds is a pain. Hopefully they will come out with longer battery life or replaceable batteries. Charge one use one options. Over all this is a game change in the range finder market, I sure in the next couple of year all range finders will follow this model. So learn it now and get one in your bag.

    The best GPS rangefinder
    So after reading the other reviews concerning battery life i made the purchase anyway. I took the following steps. 1) Charged the unit. 2) Read the entire manual. 3) Updated the software. 4) Took it for a test drive on the driving range. Now I was ready. Used the unit for two rounds of golf and it worked great with all features active. After two rounds i still had 62% battery life remaining. This unit is awesome and would recommend it over any other on the market.

No, the Z80 only provides distance information.

The Z82 is an updated model that is more accurate and offers more game-enhancing features. Here are a few differences between the models;

1) Based on data, the Z82 can now measure a flag’s distance to within 10 inches from up to 450 yards away
2) Provides the ability to see targets more clearly in the Approach Z82 because the high-resolution OLED display has been improved.
3) When you use the laser pointer to track the flag, the unit buzzes once the pin/flag is locked in and the distances you see in the viewfinder blink.
4) The Z82 provides the option of linking it with your smartphone, which allows it to show wind speed and direction.
5) The unit also has a slope function that determines if your target is uphill or downhill, then provides a PlaysLike distance. In Tournament mode, slope function and PlaysLike are disabled, but the laser still works

No – the z80 does not vibrate on targets. The visuals and graphics though are unparalleled. It is a very good device !

The device features an adjustable eyepiece (+/- 4 diopter adjustment). This allows you to focus the screen for your eyesight.
Rotate the eyepiece to focus the screen.
