A friend of mine is an AV professional and told me I should spend around $5k on a projector + screen. Wife, however, disagreed. It’s a crapshoot with these things, as I wasn’t able to find a single place that would allow me to a/b various models in proper environment.
Does it leave for something to be desired? Yes. But 5 stars none the less for the price to quality ratio. I have friends who paid 3 times more and got no significant benefit.
Mounted this puppy to an 8′ ceiling of my basement dedicated film room about 16′ from a fixed frame 120″ screen and could not be happier. The remote even has a laser pointer, which is incredible if you want to annoy a wife!
I was gonna wait a year since we just moved into a much larger house that we are still outfitting and my desired budget was not approved by the aforementioned wife, but decided to take a chance and am very happy.

Just what I hoped for
This projector is being used in our wedding venue. It is projecting against a white wall and it gives off an excellent picture. I couldn’t have asked for anything better.

This Optoma EH416 project has been a big joy to own and use for training
This Optoma EH416 project has been a big joy to own and use for training. This projector is bright with a great lens range while the fan sounds are barely noticeable by myself or the participants. I have personally used dozens of projectors over my career, many of them had short lives with some drawbacks. The Optoma EH416 has been a reliable platform and I have logged over 60+ hours of lamp use within a months time using this item.
Pros: Bright clear image with the image shown on a plain white wall with the ballroom fully lite.
Cons: Audio sound level transmitted via a HDMI connection does not take advantage of the full sound levels capable of the 10 watts built-in sound system – I wish the sound level was much louder.
Also, everyone who has seen this unit in action has asked me if they can borrow the projector. 🙂
Bottom line this unit is a great performer for training in a bright environment and it does well with watching HD movies as well in business spaces.

Great value for price, does ok during daylight
This has become our outdoor media center. I connect a ROKU to the HDMI port and stream Youtube, Xfinity, NFL games, College Football, Kid’s movies, etc. We use an EV Speaker with the audio out cord, works very well. I do not fully believe the LUMENS rate at 4500 as we do struggle to see on our 120 inch elite screen during the day. It is very close to 4k when dialed in properly. This is a very good projector for the money invested. Highly recommend.

Great Projector, even better seller
This seller is awesome. My first order was lost in shipping and ended up across the country so the seller sent a replacement. The projector works great and is everything we needed for a large conference room AV setup.

Works great in church
Our church purchased three of the projectors, first two, then the third one about a year later. They all have a clear image and seem to hold up well.

Not worth it
I bought this brand new. The device continuously won’t recognize my laptop when connecting it to HDMI. I can sometimes get it to work by repeatedly rebooting both the projector and my laptop. This is awful to have to do this process often. I have tried using different laptops, and different hdmi cables, and the other hdmi port as well. Yes, I’ve also tried unplugging, and plugging back in. I’ve even checked the settings within all laptops, to see if the problems is somehow with multiple laptops (connecting to the same projector).
The projector is faulty, and I don’t know how it passed compliance and quality checks.
This product is not cheap- and it’s terrible that this company makes a faulty product for such a price that it is. I would NOT recommend this product (or brand), and will Not be buying from them again.

Good for the money, but HDR and 4K are fake
Pretty good picture and brightness. HDR and 4K support is a joke though. But for the price in a non light controlled room with an ALR screen, the picture is decent.
