We were extremely nervous that this projector would work as well as our initial projector in theater. The Geek Squad worked very hard to program remote and get fire stick to work for us in utilizing ESPN+

Works great, beautiful picture. This is my third Optoma projector upgrade thru the years. I started with one in about 1997, then upgraded to 1080 in 2016, Now I am up to 4k. The upgraded features are a plus too. I only use it for viewing on a home screen, so I can not say how well the presentation ability is. It looks great when I hook my lap top to it. I have never had any problems with any of them. The other 2 still work, and I gave one to my brother to use on camping trips. I prefer the 3000+ lumen projectors that can be used in most places. I have been binge watching series on it since I bought it. I love it.

A lot of bang for the buck in a 4K laser projector

I purchased this projector to upgrade an an already established Optoma home theater install. The UHZ50 is quiet, brighter and quicker to turn on than my original Optoma projector. Additionally it has better color and more detail as well as far more adjustability.

I had made up my mind I wasn’t going to buy another bulb for my outdated Epson. This Optoma projector is a big upgrade over my old 1080p projector. 1080p videos are brighter and clearer with this Optoma. 4K HDR videos are even better. I am very happy.

Highly recommended
We are absolutely thrilled with the Optoma UHZ45 projector!
The 4K UHD resolution delivers incredibly crisp and vibrant images with exceptional clarity. It’s like having a cinema in your living room!
One of the standout features for me is the enhanced gaming mode. It takes gaming to the next level with a lightning-fast 16.7ms response time in 4K at 60Hz and an impressive 4ms in 1080p at 240Hz. Gamers, you’re in for a treat!
The projector is packed with the latest technology, including HDR and HLG compatibility, three HDMI 2.0 inputs, and Full 3D support. Plus, the integrated speaker is a nice bonus.
What really sets the UHZ45 apart is its laser technology. As per the specs, I read it offers 30,000-hour maintenance-free laser light source, I hope I can enjoy hours of entertainment worry-free. (Will update if required) The color accuracy is exceptional, and the dynamic contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1 truly enhances the visual experience.
I can confidently say that the Optoma UHZ45 has exceeded my expectations, and I’m thoroughly enjoying recreating the big-screen experience at home. It’s a fantastic investment for any home theater enthusiast or gamer. Highly recommended!”

Great Upgrade
Is it perfect – no, but as an upgrade to my 13 year old panasonic ae4000 1080p its a helluva deal. I was very lucky to have a perfect throw distance in my media room (14 feet), as you have VERY little adjustment with this projector. If you can make it work in your space, its a great projector. Much brighter and sharper than my old one, and it has no bulbs to replace. 4k HDR at 60 hz is amazing. The contrast is excellent, and it is super sharp. I went with the 45 as there is no reason to have “smart” features on a projector (my avr and fire stick already have wifi). Its also about half the size of my old one, and I paid half the price (a quarter the cost when you consider inflation). Great upgrade!

Optoma 45 projector
As home theater. Very good picture quality. For expanding pic needs more distance can’t shift lenses

The real slim shady
I’ll try and keep it short and helpful.
My story:
I’ve been gaming on a 120 inch screen projector setup (DLP 1080 bulbs) for about a decade now and I got tired of these 2 things: super hot air making the room uncomfortable; having to change bulbs a lot. Plus yer boy wanted to have a 4k projector since the day I heard it was even a ting.
This projector:
The colors are not as good, but nothing you should really care about… 9/10.
The 4 corner keystone is legendary. Me likey.

Would recommend
For some reason our HDMI 1 port stopped soaking with our firestick. Switched it to port 2 and it was fine. We have about 50 hours on the unit and it’s bright enough for day time use with few windows. We haven’t tried HDMI 1 with anything else yet. Also wish it had a lense cover for the price. The unit when running is quiet.

No complaints and have a wonderful picture quality
I was apprehensive at first but the reviews showed a good rating. I have been using the projector now for almost a year and I am completely satisfied with picture and light output. I do not need to turn all the lights off and close all the blinds to see the movies now. Great projector for the price.

Optoma, you used to be great
I had an old Optoma HD33 projector that served me well for over 10 years, so I thought I’d stick with Optoma again when upgrading to 4k. I was initially happy with the image quality and brightness, but slowly some disappointing things emerged.
First and foremost there are noticeable focus uniformity issues (when the top centre is pin sharp the bottom left is soft, and when the bottom left is sharp the top centre is soft). And no, I don’t have the image on an angle or any geometric correction enabled.
It is more evident when displaying text, so I used that in a video to demonstrate the issue wo Optoma, and they said that it’s not a data projector and just meant for movies and games. I countered with the fact that there is text in games (e.g. menu/setting screens), and there is also text in the interfaces of streaming services that play movies, but they refused to do anything and suggested that I just find a mid point where both parts are relatively in focus. That’s unacceptable to me with a projector that cost this much.
