The metal protective case is an absolute must, regardless of how great you are at never shanking the ball. You might think your floor is level, but I assure you it is not! The metal protective case comes with three leveling legs so you can line it up perfectly! So far I cannot find anything wrong with it. I’m going to be buying an enclosure and projector next week.

One thing for people who have a completely unrealistic view of the price of golf. The software the skytraker uses costs 99.99 annually, not one time. If you cannot afford this then you should not be playing golf. This is as close to an “affordable coach” that you will ever get. Their time is 60 an HOUR. The software has to be updated and therefore it’s never finished. This is the reason for the cost.

I saw a few unrealistic people complaining that they didn’t get a projector and impact screen with this, and I was laughing so hard . Just the enclosure costs around 2,000 dollars with just the impact screen. I’m not sure why those people are playing golf if they are that financially strapped.

Good for some maybe not others
I took a chance on the Skytrak being Ive seen mixed reviews . Following all instructions and properly leveling it I personally had accuracy issues . I tried 2 different mats I had here and it didn’t matter . On the mat off the mat I still had the same issue .

I noticed 6I and up it really kicked in with height and distance issues . I’m a high ball hitter being I have a semi open club face at address . Almost every single ball I hit with 6I up was a head high bullet . And in return I lost all distance on the club , 6I no more then 160 yards . Driver was going 200-210 yards max . I’d read in reviews on a few forums this was a issue and some tips/tricks to try . No luck with any of them . Also the number of misreads where pretty high as well .

In the length of time I’ve had the unit which is about 5 days . I feel it has a issue with high club head speed and capturing the ball data , by no means am I a pro in this matter I’m just giving my opinion/review.

The unit arrived unable to detect any local WiFi network. I can see 9 at my location. After hours on the phone with several CSRs blaming my primary LAN with no fix, I was given a RMA. It took over a month, numerous calls and emails with multiple CSRs to get it back. It sat in the service unit for over 2 weeks untouched. Ultimately, they sent the same unit back claiming they couldn’t replicate the error and didn’t change anything. When received, the unit immediately saw all 9 available WiFi networks and connected to my primary WiFi LAN with no problems. Hmmm… No additional warrantee or discounts were offered for my experience. One would expect better service on an item that is in the $2k range with an ongoing annual subscription commitment. That said, now that it’s working, it seems to be doing everything advertised. Once you figure out ball placement; distances, spin rates, launch angle etc. all seem to be close to what I would expect in RL. I’m a high single digit with a pretty consistent swing. There’s lots of good data from a product in its price class. I’m currently using it with my iPad and the app is solid.
